Hypnosis & NLP – An Alternative Therapy for Allergies
Are you surprised just how much you reacted to this year’s pollen? Was it worse than last year? Are you not as allergic to hay fever? Though we might not notice, allergies come and go and vary in intensity throughout our lives. Some people have outgrown their childhood allergies such as hay fever and then became allergic as an adult to things such as shrimp or gluten.
Fortunately, not only do allergies come and go with time; you can make them come and go.
What is an allergy?
To understand what is needed to make an allergy go away, we must first understand what an allergy is. Michael Levi, an award-winning immunologist, describes how we develop allergies
“Allergies are formed when the immune system has an over-reaction – a phobic reaction- to a certain substance that is not inherently dangerous.”
Once the immune system over-reacts to a substance, it interprets it as dangerous, and marks it as an ‘allergen.’ Once a substance is labeled as an allergen, any time we are close to or tasting that allergen, the immune system sets up its defense mechanisms against it. This defense mechanism is similar to the defense set up by the system against a virus. This defense mechanism is why we experience all the sneezing, itchiness, and stuffiness.
What causes an allergy?
What causes the immune system to over-react to a substance? The causes are not what we would imagine. Our practitioners and trainers have discovered unusual and unexpected causes of our client’s allergies:
- An irrational childhood fear
- A parent’s allergies
- A mistaken connection between a food item you were eating while being very upset
- An object that reminds your immune system of a painful highly charged moment such as a divorce, an accident, a fall.
- Your mother-in-law’s lawn….
Allergy Relief
Found the cat last night. Petted, rubbed, scratched him, then deliberately rubbed and scratched my eyes. No reaction. Could this really be true? After 40+ years? More experiments to come, but having that sense of “been there, done that” already. Will keep you posted. – Chris, Santa Cruz, CA
“My experience of working with Eva Clark on my severe animal allergy was nothing short of a miracle in my life.” – Mitchell, Santa Cruz, CA
“It wasn’t until I spent time at my son’s house sitting on the sofa riddled with cat hairs that I realized I was truly over my cat allergy!” – Judy, Watsonville, CA
To eliminate an allergy, we must eliminate the relationship between the event that triggered the allergy and the substance. How? By altering the subconscious thoughts about the meaning of the substance. Changing your thoughts not only helps your body to not over-react to cats, pollen or bell peppers but also to not over-react to cold temperatures (in the case of Raynaud’s), heights, dentists and other phobias.
Ready to change your thoughts? Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) can help to guide your immune system to no longer overact. The process usually takes 1 to 3 sessions, and many master level practitioners of NLP have been trained in the Allergy Process.
Raynaud’s is a similar overreaction as an Allergy
Raynaud’s is a similar overreaction. In this case, the nervous system overreacts to cold in the extremities (fingers and toes). The NLP process used with allergies can also be applied with Raynaud’s. You can read a case study detailing the methods used on Raynaud’s here.
“It was really cold the other day, crazy wind and.. my hands did not do the Raynaud’s phenomenon thing!” – Tiffany, Santa Cruz, CA
